Dr. Lipeng Wan is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Georgia State University (GSU). Prior to joining GSU, he was a Computer Scientist in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Before he became a research staff in 2018, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at ORNL for two years. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2016.
His primary research interests include data infrastructures for AI-driven scientific discovery, scientific data compression and indexing, AI-powered scientific workflows, high-performance and data-intensive computing, and distributed systems, etc. He has published numerous research papers in leading journals and conference proceedings in these areas.
