Dr. Lipeng Wan is a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Georgia State University (GSU). Prior to joining GSU, he was a Computer Scientist in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL). Before he became a full-time research staff in 2018, he worked as a postdoctoral research associate at ORNL for two years. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in computer science from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2016.

His primary research interests include scientific data management and analytics, high-performance and data-intensive computing, performance and resilience optimization for distributed systems. He has published numerous research papers in high-quality journals and conference proceedings, including IEEE TPDS, Elsevier JPDC, IEEE/ACM SC, IEEE ICDCS, ACM HPDC, IEEE IPDPS, etc.
